The following portraits of female survivors were taken by Jan Goff-LaFontaine at the 2007 and 2008 Races to Stop the Silence (Jan Lafontaine is a professional photographer dedicated to bringing awareness and healing through art. Jan is the author and photographer of the award-winning book, Women in Shadow and Light: Journeys From Abuse to Healing.)

In the past year (2011), men who are survivors started coming forward and contacting Stop the Silence in a way that had never happened before. We certainly want to make tribute to their bravery and "thrivership."

Thank you all for your courage and strength, for your willingness and ability to come forward and show the world that there is healing, and that we, together, have got to take a stand, protect the children and provide support for survivors.
